November 30, 2010 - Guild Dinner at IFFI 2010

Guild dinner at IFFI 2010 – a spectacular success

In sync with its annual traditions, The Film & Television Producers Guild of India Ltd. organized a dinner party on 26th November, 2010 in honor of delegates participating in the 41st International Film Festival of India (IFFI) at Goa.

The informal gathering was set in the simplistic and serene environs of Laran, the International Centre of Goa, Dona Paula. The event, in itself was replete with revelry, frolic and ecstasy, masked in the subtleties of the IFFI flavor which resonated effervescently at this beautiful venue. The event began with a brief introductory address from Guild President Shri Ramesh Sippy who extended his heartfelt greetings to the delegates and wished all the goodwill & success for IFFI. Shri Sippy thereafter requested Shri S. M. Khan, Director, Directorate of Film Festivals (DFF), to express his views on the occasion. Shri Khan also conveyed his appreciation for the tumultuous response to IFFI from delegates. This was followed by a brief introduction of Guild CEO Shri Kulmeet Makkar. Subsequent to these suave speeches, the delegates were treated to an eye pleasing combination of excellent dancing and myopic elegance from an African troupe. The performers showcased their wonderful choreography interspersed with superb gesticulations, which undoubtedly enlivened the mood of the ensemble, thus establishing the entertainment pattern of the event. This was followed by an enchanting youthful and soulful musical rendition played through a disc jockey which reverberated through the green lawns of Laran and evinced an equally feisty response from the delegates who bathed in the spectacle of unsolicited exhilaration, charm and dignified glitterati. The event concluded in the wee hours of night with dinner for the remarkably patient and endearing guests.

The impressive assemblage of people was encapsulated by the classy presence of the who’s who of IFFI 2010 which bridged together the various divergent aspects influencing the heterogeneous cultures of Eastern and Western entertainment worlds.
