GUILD - Enhancing the value of Cinematic Arts- The Film & Television Producers Guild of India Limited is an autonomous non-profit entertainment trade body comprising of industry stakeholders. The Guild assumes varied roles of significance in the paradigm of the Indian Film and Television industry such as being a principal negotiator with the Government on various critical issues, industry development, resolving intra and external trade disputes of the industry, cinema tourism, liaising with foreign delegations and arranging conclaves for the benefit of its members.

Established as The Film Producers Guild of India Ltd. in 1954 by the stalwarts of the Indian film industry including Raj Kapoor, Mehboob Khan, Sasadhar Mukerji, B.N. Sircar, V. Shantaram, Vijay Bhatt, B.R. Chopra, the Guild also incorporated the television sector in its fold in 2004 and assumed its current nomenclature as The Film & Television Producers Guild of India Ltd.

The Guild has also been instrumental in organizing fund raisers such as Help Telethon Concert in aid of tsunami victims and seminars & conventions like FRAMES with influential trade bodies such as FICCI and CII. Also, the Guild has instituted an Annual Guild Awards for excellence in film and television held annually – an award by the industry, for the industry and of the industry.

From renowned film makers/production houses like Ramesh Sippy, Mukesh Bhatt, Subhash Ghai, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Rakesh Roshan, Prakash Jha, Eros International, Excel Entertainment; to the young brigade of Siddharth Roy Kapur, Aditya Chopra, Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala, Ashutosh Gowariker, Farhan Akhtar, Vishal Bhardwaj, Rajkumar Hirani, Madhu Mantena, etc. to actors turned producers like Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Anushka Sharma; to new diversified media companies like UTV- Disney, Reliance Entertainment, Balaji Telefilms, Fox Star Studio, Viacom 18, T-series, Ultra Media & Entertainment, Shemaroo Entertainment, Wizcraft International Entertainment; to leading television broadcasters/production houses like Star India, Sony Pictures Networks India, Sphereorigins Multivision, Creative Eye, Siddhant Cinevision, Optimystix Entertainment India ,Director’s Kut Production, Neela Telefilms, Swastik Productions, Sol Productions, Rajshri Pictures, Rose Audio Visuals – the Guild has been a one stop shop for the principal content creators of the industry.
